at the Buckland House

The restoration of the Buckland House is a combined effort of the Town of Brighton, the State of New York, and the Brighton Rotary Club. Brighton Rotary’s Centennial Community Service Project raised and donated one-fifth of the restoration costs for this building.

Brighton Rotary is one of over 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical area.  It’s members form a global network of business and professional leaders who volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities and the world.

Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, exemplifies the humanitarian spirit of the organization’s more that 1.2 mullion members. Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful community and international service projects characterize Rotary worldwide.

Rotary International celebrated its 100th birthday in February 2005. To celebrate a Century of Rotary Service, each of the 32,000 clubs worldwide performed a project in their local community that fulfilled a community need.  Brighton Rotary is pleased and honored to have made the restoration of this house their Centennial Community Service Project.
